Bantry Bay – Photovoltaic, Battery Back-up, Water Heating with Solar and Heat Pump, Solar Pool Heating
One of the best utilized domestic roofs in Cape Town. This roof heats 900l of hot water for the house, heats 2x pools and produce 8 000 kWh of electricity per annum.
Should you use conventional methods to produce the same amount of energy, you need 20 000 kWh to heat the pools (Heat Pump), 8500 kWh to heat the domestic hot water.
The yield from the roof is therefore 36 500 kWh or in today’s terms R 70 000 of energy per annum. Furthermore it creates autonomy during power outages.
