The Challenge
Our client, a student hostel in Bellville offering compact apartments, wanted to significantly reduce their electricity costs while also feeding any surplus energy back into the grid. To achieve this, they needed an efficient and balanced solar solution that could maximise energy production throughout the day using their available roof space.
The Solution
We implemented a Commercial Savings Solution using two 15kW Fronius inverters, each equipped with two MPPTs. This design allowed us to optimise energy generation by strategically utilising both East and West-facing roof spaces. The setup ensures a balanced energy distribution throughout the day, maximising solar production and increasing overall efficiency. Additionally, the council’s bulk meter system enables the property owner to reduce bulk electricity expenses, transforming shared roof spaces into valuable assets.
The Outcome
This innovative solar solution has drastically reduced the client’s electricity costs while enabling them to feed surplus energy back into the grid. The system not only enhances their return on investment but also provides immediate tax benefits. By effectively utilising the sunny roof spaces, the client now enjoys significant cost savings and improved energy independence.
